Seven months old...We are loving every minute of watching Anna grow and change. What we love most right now is how she reaches for
everything. The second we pick her up out of her crib she is leaning over reaching for her mobile. She loves when we sit her on the edge of her crib so she can grab the horse, cow, and sheep as they float by her face. Seriously, she could do this for hours. Our favorite thing she reaches for, of course, is us. Whether she is sitting on the floor, in her highchair, or in someone else's arms, nothing is sweeter right now then those little hands and arms reaching towards us.
She is sitting very steadily so I guess the next step will be getting ready to crawl. When she is lying down, she can quickly roll over from back to front and will chill out on her tummy for longer periods of time. We put toys in front of her and try to get her to scoot over to them. She still needs help getting from her tummy to her back, but I think she is getting the hang of it.
Anna and I have settled into a nice routine this summer. After she wakes up, eats, and gets a bath I've been taking her to the kids club at the gym. We've had a few meltdowns at the church nursery, so I really wanted to get her exposed to more adults when we are not around. The first day was not good, but ever since she has been fine (knock on wood). The caregivers say she just sits on her blanket, watches the other kids, and sucks on blocks the whole time. As a result, I've been able to start running again which, amazingly I have really missed.
We are still exploring new foods. This week she tried bananas, but didn't seem to like them at first. I'm going to keep trying, though, because they smell really good. She is also eating pears and I bought apples to try next.
As you can see from the picture, Anna can sit in carts now. I think she looks so funny in there! On a related note, we bought her a new stroller this week so when we go on walks she can face forward and doesn't have to sit in her car seat.
Mamom and Pappy are coming this weekend so I am sure I will have a lot of pictures to share next week.
